It’s a simple truth, but we sometimes forget that your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Just like you would go to see a doctor for a lingering cough or a sprained ankle, taking care of your emotional and psychological well-being is essential for a full and healthy life.

Learning how to understand and manage your emotions, navigate challenges and build resilience are skills that benefit everyone. At Guidelight Health, we deeply believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health care. We’re here to help make that a reality for more people.

Your mental health options for Anthem members at Guidelight

At Guidelight, we offer two primary levels of intensive care designed to provide support for individuals who need more than traditional weekly therapy but don’t need 24/7 inpatient hospitalization. These programs are now accessible for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield members:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program is a highly structured and supportive step between inpatient care and regular outpatient therapy. It’s designed for individuals who are experiencing significant mental health challenges that make it hard to function in their daily lives, but are medically stable enough to go home every night.

In our PHP, you’ll participate in treatment for at least six hours a day, five days a week. During this time, you’ll do a variety of therapeutic activities, which may include:

Individual therapy

One-on-one sessions with a therapist to explore personal challenges and develop healthy coping skills.

Group therapy

Facilitated by a therapist, sessions with your peers offer a safe space to share experiences, gain new perspectives and practice social skills. This can help foster a strong sense of community and reduce feelings of isolation.

Family therapy

When appropriate, involving family members in the treatment process can help improve communication and build a stronger support system at home.

Medication management

Access to psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners for medication evaluation and ongoing treatment is provided as needed.

Psychoeducation

Providers can help you learn about your condition, its symptoms and healthy, effective ways to manage them.

Holistic approaches

This can include activities like mindfulness or art therapy, designed to help support your overall well-being.

The unique benefit of our PHP is that it provides you with intensive support and structure during the day while allowing you to keep connections with your home life, practice newly learned skills in your environment and sleep in your own bed. This can be a crucial bridge to help you achieve greater independence and stability.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a flexible, yet structured treatment option that provides a step down from a PHP, or step up from traditional weekly therapy. It can be ideal for individuals who need ongoing support and structure to help manage their mental health, but can maintain more independence.

At our IOP, you’ll attend therapy sessions and group sessions for a few hours a day, three days a week. This schedule allows you to continue with your other responsibilities, such as work, school or family obligations while still receiving significant mental health care. Our IOP includes:

Group therapy

A core component of our IOP, group therapy focuses on skill development, peer support and processing challenges.

Individual therapy

Intended to address specific concerns, this involves regular one-on-one sessions with your mental health care provider.

Medication management

If needed, you’ll have access to psychiatric care for your medication needs.

Skill building

You’ll learn to build healthy coping skills, regulate your emotions, manage stress, improve communication skills and prevent relapse.

Support for transition

When you’re ready, we’ll help you apply what you’ve learned in therapy to your everyday life and transition back to a lower level of care.

IOP offers you a balanced approach, providing you with consistent therapeutic intervention without requiring a full-day commitment. This level of care is excellent for solidifying coping skills, building a stronger support system and preventing relapse.

Both our PHP and IOP are designed to treat complex mental health conditions in a respectful, nurturing setting. And now, for Anthem, Northeast Partners and Health Colorado members in Colorado, these services are covered in-network, bringing you high-quality care that’s easier to access and afford.

We know that reaching out for help can feel intimidating. Our therapists, psychiatrists and support staff are here to meet you with kindness and understanding every step of the way.

We take time to learn your story. We listen. We work with you to build a treatment plan that fits your recovery goals and lifestyle. Whether you’re taking your first step toward mental health care or returning to treatment after some time away, you’re always welcome here.
