FAQ
Where is virtual programming available?
Guidelight’s virtual IOP is currently available throughout the state of Colorado. We expect it to be available in Massachusetts in September 2025 and in North Carolina at a later time.
What technology and other items do I need?
To successfully participate in virtual programming, clients need to have the following:
- Reliable internet (10 Mbps+); ethernet recommended
- Web enabled device with functioning webcam and microphone, cameras must be on (self-view may be disabled if desired)
- Private space with sufficient lighting – closed door preferred
- Headphones are strongly recommended, required where a closed door is not possible
- A table, desk or other comfortable seating area; no participation from bed
- Stationary location within service state that session is set to occur
Will my insurance cover this?
Guidelight is committed to making high-quality mental health care accessible to everyone. We work with all insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid plans, and are regularly adding to our network of coverage. Virtual treatment is often covered as part of many insurance plans. We will work closely with clients to verify benefits, explain coverage details, and assist in creating a plan that aligns with each client’s needs.
How is this different from in-person IOP?
Guidelight is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible, and clinically sound care through virtual services as an extension of our in-person offerings. Virtual care is held to the same professional, ethical, and clinical standards as in-person care and is designed to support client safety, engagement, and therapeutic progress in a secure and HIPAA-compliant environment.
Can I keep my current therapist?
Yes. At Guidelight, we believe in the power of collaboration, working together with you, your loved ones, other providers, and within our team to create a personalized and comprehensive care plan. Communication with referring providers is built into our program beginning at program commencement. Progress reports are sent to referring providers and they are given the opportunity to join the discharge planning session.
